This performance took place in a secret location in Shadwell, East London. The 'vault' had been cleared out of years of unwanted junk especially for the night and, as far as we know, no other event had ever been held here.

A host of Wilderthorn-Secret-Gig ticket holders dressed in feathers and face-paints followed a trail of lanterns down steps, through a huge red door where they were met by an opening DJ / Tabla set from Sekrit, setting the stage for the main UV-lit Wilderthorn performance ahead.

The performance itself sparked the ghostly echoes of voices singing in darkness, UV-war-paint moving like hollow shells lit by black-light, ribbons and feathers waving and powder rising and falling in a luminous cloud to the rhythm of beating drums.

Wilderthorn was joined by Mockingbird, re-imagining their alt-country harmonies with bird-like humming flutters and swoops of Bjork-like sensibility. Mid-set, drummer Sekrit let loose the clamour of his Dhol drumming for the first time on new Bhangra driven song, 'Come-Union', which became the night's encore.

The evening ended with lit camp fires out in the Vault’s neighbouring courtyard looking out on to the Shadwell basin of the Thames.
