This historic giant 'well'-like, Tunnel Shaft is a creation of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and linked to one of the world's great engineering dynasties, The Brunel Tunnel.
Getting into the space wasn't easy... A sold out, 200 strong audience crawled their way one by one through a low 'Alice In Wonderland' doorway and tunnel with on hands on knees and made their way down a scaffold staircase, all to catch sight of Wilderthorn backed by the incredible London Bulgarian Choir.
The space, with it's engulfing walls of scrapes and texture stretching up to the East London streets above, swept the drums and voices up and around the audience. The choir, led by the amazing Dessislava Stefanova brought their exciting reinterpreted native sounds to the choir backed songs. The night ended with a wonderful spontaneous ending to the song 'Home' which has now become a regular arrangement to the live version of the song.
